Up

Insight into my daycare working side.... haha. :-)

Up: a common word uttered by wobbly little one year olds.

It is just one syllable and a very easy word to say, so I think they learn to say it fairly quickly once they start grasping the concept that what comes out of their mouths can communicate their wants a lot better than other previously used and mastered methods.

It can invoke several feelings in the person it is said to. Sometimes it is a word you like to hear... If you want to pick them up and cuddle and are not doing anything else it just makes you melt inside that they want you. It just makes them seem so irresistibly cute. But then, other times, you are in the middle of doing something productive, like cleaning peanut butter off the table before it gets all over the rest of the furniture or toys.... Or holding another child whose hair was just pulled to the point of tears, etc etc.
Such a simple word, a sentance all in itself when spoken by toddlers. Yet I think it is the one word that can change your mood for better or worse depending on the circumstance and which child is saying it...

I can't agreee with you more. Another one that I loved when you all were small, was, "I wuv you". Then the little hands reach up to give you that much needed hug.
That time fly's by way to fast.

Hi Kaitlyn, thanks for leaving a comment. Our computer was completely wiped and I lost your blog address. I am glad that u left a comment so that I could see your blog again and save it in my favorites. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. I actually do have experience working in a dental office and ortho office. I worked as an assistant for over 5 years. I don't mind working in people's mouths. I have wanted to do this even before I went on my mission over 14 years ago! I just always have this nagging feeling that I should do it. I think I have put it off long enough. Although I do not know where I will get the money for the 2 classes I need to take BEFORE I am able to even apply for the program. I still want to have another baby too. I am not sure how all this will happen. We shall see. BTW...did I ever thank you for the YUMMY cookies u left on my doorstep. You are so kind and thoughtful!!!!!
